Wolfe’s Tavern is conveniently located right in the Wolfeboro Inn and is a great place to eat whether you’re staying at the Inn or not. They have a delicious and varied menu that has everything from pizza and burgers to steak and more. The Tavern has a great atmosphere as well, with pewter mugs hung from beautiful heavy wooden beams, carved wooden tables, and stone fireplaces.
One of the traditions that the Tavern is known for is it’s “Mug Club” – in order to join, one must sample all the beers on the menu – and no, not all in one visit (there’s about 100 of them). Then once the patron finishes the punch card of all the beers he gets to ring the bell at the bar, and then kiss the moose (yes, moose) before being granted his own numbered pewter mug to reside at the Tavern waiting for his next drink . So far, over 2,000 people have completed the Mug Club Challenge.
